SCIL Announces New Independent Living Program Coordinator
Alma Cervantes joins our staff as Independent Living Program Coordinator.
Alma fills the position of Mary Morris who departed in June to join the Venice
Arts Council as executive director. Having been on staff at the Family Network
on Disabilities of Florida, Inc. as Training Coordinator, Alma will provide
skills training, coordinate peer mentoring with Kelly, and will expand SCIL's
community outreach. Alma brings a wealth of experience in advocacy roles, is
bi-lingual, and has served as advocate to the Polio Foundation, La Voz, SER Jobs
for Progress as well as volunteering for many other community needs.
Alma is in the process of revising the ILS Training Program Components. Monthly Training Center Schedules will be posted again, beginning this fall. Until then, please contact Alma for ILS Training Program details.
