Ways to Help Suncoast Center for Independent Living
Donate your Time
SCIL is currently recruiting volunteers to offer assistance in several areas of need: Computer Training, Office Assistance, ILS Transition Center Support, Computer Refurbishing, Wheelchair ramp building, and Fundraising.
Do you have office skills? Construction skills? Computer skills? Could you be an effective Peer Counselor? Do you have Graphic Design skills? SCIL is currently refurbishing our marketing materials, and we could really use a skilled volunteer to hep us with formatting and design. Are you a good networker? SCIL could use some help with fundraising and outreach.
If you have some extra time to give, consider donating your time to help enhance the lives of people with disabilities. Our volunteers are a big part of our team here at SCIL.
To donate your time, please contact us. You may also download our Volunteer Application.

Donate Goods
SCIL also gratefully accepts donated goods of all kinds. Donations are used by the consumers or are used to raise additional funds for SCIL. Goods may be used as a part of a silent auction or as a raffle prize.
Donate Medical Equipment
SCIL accepts a wide variety of medical equipment (wheelchairs, walkers, canes, transfer benches, & shower chairs) that are loaned out at no charge to individuals with disabilities.
Donate your Cell Phone
SCIL recycles inactive cell phones. Funds earned are used towards the Independent Living Skills program.
Donate Computers
SCIL volunteers refurbish used, donated computers that are loaned out to individuals with disabilities. We accept all types of computers and computer equipment. We even accept non-working computers. We can take the parts from several older or outdated computers and combine them to create one functioning computer. SCIL also accepts mouses, keyboards, monitors, software, etc.
